Level 2

Level 2: Building Foundation Program -  following CEFR English levels B1 and B2

Duration

• One course is 16 hours total or equivalent to 1 month
• Each class is 2 hours long, twice a week, resulting in 4 hours a week.
• Classes are on Monday and Wednesday, 13:00-15:00 pm.
• Besides our class time, students are given homework and self study packages to improve their skills even more! This is all included in the class price, there are no additional fees!
• Homework will be submitted on our google classroom where teachers can track student's progress or answer any questions our students may have. 

At Longway Academy we understand the importance of building a solid foundation for our student's understanding. All materials used are from the British Curriculum including Oxford and Cambridge books which are recognized and accepted worldwide.

Besides the curriculum, all classes are taught by certified and experienced Native English speaking Teachers! 

Upon finishing the Level 2 Building Foundation Program, students will be measured their progress and proficiency using the CEFR quiz provided by Cambridge English International Language Standards to move to the next level and course.

Skills achieved after finishing the Level 2 course

The CEFR is divided into the following skills: listening, reading, speaking, and writing. The CEFR enables you to estimate your present language level.

B1-B2  aims to perfect the student’s ability to:

Listening: I can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure etc. I can understand clearly spoken broadcasts ,most TV programs, features, and the majority of film in standard dialect.

Reading: I can understand texts about areas of everyday and school-related language. I can understand private letters about experiences, dreams, and hopes. 

Speaking: I can deal with most situations in family, friends, work, traveling, and experiences. I can interact with a degree of fluency and confidence that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party.

Writing: I can produce simple connected texts on topics which are familiar or of personal interest. I can describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes, and ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans. I can produce clear, detailed texts on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint. 

Level Equivalent 

The level 2 is equivalent to IELTS 5 - 7.5 or TOEFL IBT 60 - 85
